Immobilise Property Crime

Immobilise is a database on which members of the public can register any identifiable property, such as mobile phones, mp3 players, laptops, etc. It is free to use and over 22 million items of property have been registered by people since it was created.

Rest assured that the no one has the ability to browse property registered in the database by members of the public, and the Police can only search the database when property is handed in as found property, or is recovered as suspected stolen property.

To register your mobile phone, you need to know your IMEI (handset) number. This can usually be found:

  • On a sticker underneath the battery
  • By keying in *#06# on the keypad
  • From the box in which the mobile phone was supplied
  • From any documentation relating to the mobile phone or phone account
  • From your mobile phone network provider - call the Immobilise information line for appropriate contact details.
